ONLINE FILING WITH PAYMENT & SECURE TAX PORTAL
The City of Trenton is now offering a way to securely upload tax documents and file your return starting with tax year 2021. Individual taxpayers can use the City's online tax tool to input their tax information and produce a calculated final return. At the time of the electronic filing, the taxpayer will be able to upload the required supporting tax documents such as but not limited to W2s, 1040 Federal Return, Schedule 1, Schedule C, Schedule E and 1099s. The Income Tax Department will no longer accept any returns or supporting documentation via email.
To request access to the secure E-file site, please click the link below to be redirected to the MITS Income Tax System.
Please note, all users will need to reset their pins (even if you created a PIN last year). Click on "Don't have a PIN?" to create a new pi. You will input your email and confirm the numeric portion of your street address. For example, if you live at 407 Sal Blvd, you would input 407 then click set my pin.

With the online tool, taxpayers may access their accounts online to check estimated tax payments and carryover credits. Taxpayers will also be able to make payments towards estimated quarterly taxes. Taxpayers can elect to pay online simultaneously as they complete their online filing with a credit card for a convenience fee charged by the credit card processor.
