Ohio Online Crash Reports
If you were involved in a traffic crash in the City of Trenton, you can download and save or print your report from the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Crash Retrieval website. All Trenton PD crash reports are available on this website as soon as they have been approved and submitted, which is usually within 3 days of the incident.
How to find your report on the Crash Retrieval website
Not all report numbers appear on this website in the same format. Using “Advanced Options” on the right-hand side of the Crash Retrieval page is recommended.
Choose the date of your incident from the calendar next to the “Crash Start Date” box, then use the drop-down arrows to select Butler County and Trenton Police Department from the “Crash County” and “Law Enforcement Agency” options. There is no need to enter a last name or email, but don’t forget the “Captcha” entry.
If it has been at least 3 days since your traffic crash and you cannot find your report online, please call 513-988-6341 for immediate assistance from an on-duty dispatcher. If you need a paper copy of your report and do not have access to a printer, stop in 24/7 and the on-duty dispatcher can print the report for you once it is available on the website. Paper copies of online reports will be provided at no charge in most instances.
Private Property crashes
Crashes that happen on private property, like a fender-bender in the parking lot of your favorite Trenton restaurant, are normally NOT reported to the State in a crash report and will not be available on the State’s Crash Retrieval website. These reports must be requested directly from the police department via email to publicrecordsrequest@cityoftrenton.org, by phone to 513-988-6341, or in person, and will be provided at no charge in most instances. Most reports will be available within 3 days of your request and can be emailed or faxed to you or your insurance agent. You can also stop in 24/7 for a paper copy of your report once you have been notified that the report has been prepared or if at least 3 days have passed since your request. Paper copies of online reports will be provided at no charge in most instances.
